Solar energy is a clean and reliable power source. But unfortunately the sun does not shine 24 hours a day and therefore access to sunlight is limited in the morning and in the evening and of course at night. In order to offset this drawback, The meeco Group – a Swiss-based clean energy provider – deployed its solar energy management solution sun2safe, a system pairing solar power with solar storage technology, guaranteeing the stability of the electricity supply and thus solving the issue coming from intermittent sunshine.

SETL meeco launched an autonomous photovoltaic installation on Aigrettes Island

Thanks to SETL meeco, one of the leading suppliers of “off the shelf” energy solutions in Mauritius, the Aigrettes island now has its own autonomous mobile photovoltaic system. The installation on this preservation island consisting of 1 iKUbe F150 equipped with 18 units of photovoltaic modules was commissioned by the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation. It went into operation on March 17th 2014.

According to SETL meeco Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Ashveen Kissoonah, the photovoltaic panels will be able to generate a maximum of 3 kW and will meet the total demand for power required by the foundation employees on the 26-hectare island.

Port-Louis, Mauritius. SETL meeco is the leader in photovoltaic kits solutions and generators in Mauritius and aspires strongly to defend and promote green energies on the island. With more than 107 solar installations in Mauritius and Rodrigues, the company produces energy worth to close to 20 millions Mauritian Rupees per year. SETL meeco is responsible for as much as 1,4 MW SSDG (Small Scale Distributed Generation) from the total of 1,8 MW of the island. Moreover, other photovoltaic projects are in process in view of supporting the transition to a greener Mauritius.

New company by The meeco Group and SETL to be operated under oursun trademark

ZUG/PORT-LOUIS. On May 3^rd 2013, the LEAL-owned company Solar-Ernte-Technik LTD (SETL) based in Mauritius and the Swiss company meeco AG, have created a jointly held company named SETL meeco Ltd that will operate under the trademark oursun. After several successful solar photovoltaic and energy storage project collaborations, the two companies have decided to combine their strengths. The company’s strategic objective will be to consolidate ongoing and future business in Mauritius as well as enter neighboring islands in the near future.

SETL and meeco install solar power and storage system on KIA showroom rooftop

ZUG/PAILLES. On March 20^th Sir Navin Rangoolam, Prime Minister of Mauritius, inaugurated the KIA Motors showroom in Port Louis, Mauritius. The showroom stands out from the competition due to an innovative energy concept composed of a solar photovoltaic (PV) and an energy storage system installed by SOLAR-ERNTE-TECHNIK LTD (SETL), a subsidiary of the LEAL group and a partner of The meeco Group. At the inauguration Hon. Devanand Virahsawmy, Minister of Environment and the top management of KIA Motors Corporation were also present.

The meeco Group installs rooftop solar power on 67 schools in Mauritius

Spread across the island, the Bureau de l’Éducation Catholique’s (BEC) mission is to offer quality education to all students by helping them develop advanced educational, cultural and social skills. To support this teaching methodology, the Bureau has put in place in 2011 its own ecological footprint program involving students. This step marked the beginning of a new and greener path at BEC.
