03/09/18: meeco TO ENTER THE CLEAN ENERGY MARKET OF MADAGASCAR
GROUPE FILATEX AND THE MEECO GROUP HAVE AGREED IMPLEMENTATION OF SOLAR POWER PLANTS TO FEED CLEAN ENERGY INTO THE ISLAND’S ELECTRICITY GRID
Located in the Indian Ocean, the Republic of Madagascar known for its outstanding rich biodiversity, has an excellent natural potential for solar energy thanks to its geographical position and the strong solar radiation. In order to benefit from these advantageous climate conditions and to generate reliable clean energy to feed and stabilise the national grid, Groupe Filatex and meeco have recently signed a cooperation agreement. In the initial phase, the agreement sets the basis to build, own and operate three solar energy projects: two utility-scale sun2live PV power plants with a nominal capacity of 7 MW and 8 MW, and one hybrid solar diesel project comprising of two parts each with a nominal capacity of 500 kWp.
