SOLAR ENERGY IN INDIA
meeco India Pvt. Ltd. - RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS ENSURING SUSTAINABLE EDUCATION
The Indian subsidiary of The meeco Group, meeco India Pvt. Ltd., provides the local energy market with innovative renewable energy solutions since 2010, having realised more than 60 MWp of solar projects for diverse applications.
meeco India Pvt. Ltd. focuses on meeting the rising energy demand in India and the associated challenges, such as regular outages, by providing sustainable energy solutions based on the unlimited power of the sun. Thereby, the subsidiary of the Swiss-based clean energy provider delivers complete projects and the corresponding services, from project development and engineering, up to financial advisory and project implementation and maintenance, according to the respective needs of the clients.
Moreover, India is one of the key manufacturing and production sites of The meeco Group. The product series of the energy management and storage solution sun2safe, the portable solar power systems sun2go xl, the solar LED solution sun2light and the solar water pumps sun2flow are manufactured there. Additionally, the supervising of meeco’s operational installations and their performances takes place in India via the monitoring system sun2see in the recently upgraded NOC in the Delhi offices.
With its ideal weather conditions and a high solar radiation, India is the perfect location for the implementation of solar projects. meeco India therefore aims to contribute to the expansion of the local renewable energy sector, away from the country’s dependence on coal, oil and gas towards a sustainable energy supply.
The meeco Group’s Indian subsidiary is especially proud of a school project realised in 2015. In order to achieve independence from the national grid and unreliable power supply, a 13.4 kWp customised photovoltaic installation was implemented at the Shiv Public School in Gurgaon. In combination with The meeco Group’s intelligent energy management system sun2safe, undisturbed lessons are ensured and up to 6,850 litres of diesel are saved yearly, enabling the school to focus on its actual priority: educating students. For meeco India, this was a project of corporate social responsibility whilst at the same time bringing a sustainable power solution into the main stream of public awareness, which starts with the future of our children.
