SOLAR ENERGY IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC AND THE CARIBBEAN
THE MEECO GROUP AND ENERGY EXPERTS NOW FOSTER RENEWABLE ENERGY SOLUTIONS IN CARIBBEAN ISLANDS
Solar energy in the Caribbean is currently a hot topic. The government of the Dominican Republic aims to become the first island of the Caribbean, which almost entirely supplies its people with clean renewable energy. In 2018, the largest solar park in the Caribbean started its energy injection to the national grid. The solar farm has an installed capacity of 57,98 MW and generates therefore approx. 8.000 MWh per year. To double the capacity to 116 MW, another photovoltaic power plant is planned. Other Caribbean islands will follow. Together with Energy Experts Now, we aim to promote the usage of renewable energies of the Dominican Republic and all other Caribbean islands.
