The meeco Group at Paraguay’s EXPO 2011

Tradeshows & Events — Dr. Oliver Jann on August 4, 2011 at 08:22

The largest exhibition in Paraguay, the Expoferia Internacional, took place in Mariano Roque Alonso (Paraguay) from July 9 to 24 and The meeco Group was among the few to integrate the “Visible Companies” exhibition hall.

This yearly exhibition which covers the latest trends in cattle breeding, industrial and distribution sectors as well as regional, national and local services, is unquestionably the business event of the year with visitors from Paraguay and all of South America. The 30th edition reached unprecedented heights with close to 700,000 visitors over the two-week period – the meeco booth positively felt this as it benefited from a front row position at the very entrance of the featured companies hall.

At the EXPO 2011, The meeco Group showcased the latest solar and energy storage technologies such as the already known sun2go portable power solutions, the sunGrid off-grid energy solutions and the all-in-one CellCube (Vanadium Redox based) energy storage solution for grid-buffering or remote power supply. “This year we definitely saw an increase in renewable energy believers among the visitors” indicates Dr. Oliver Jann, Director of meeco América Latina. “We feel that although solar and other renewable energy sources are gaining ground at the national level, some people still do not fully embrace the need to think on long-term basis” adds Dr. Jann. “I have to admit there is a particularly great amount of interest for solar water pumping systems among renewable energy believers” concludes Dr. Jann.

The meeco Group’s presence in Paraguay and Latin America is not just a strategy but a clear reality with a strong local team. The first projects are being finalized such as the soon to be inaugurated Riacho-i pilot project in Paraguay.

The meeco Group at FILDA 2011 (Angola)

Tradeshows & Events — Dieter Trutschler on July 28, 2011 at 13:41

From July 19 to 24, The meeco Group was present at the 28th FILDA edition, the largest exhibition in Angola. For the second year in a row, The meeco Group has showcased the latest solar and energy storage technologies at FILDA, namely the already known sun2go portable power solutions, the sunGrid off-grid energy solutions and the all-in-one CellCube (Vanadium Redox based) energy storage solution for grid-buffering or remote power supply.

This year, over a 1000 visitors passed by the meeco booth, located in the “Made in Germany” quarter, which was elected the best foreign country participation at FILDA 2011, just like in 2010. Personalities such as Angola’s Minister of Economy, Abrahão Gourgel and Germany’s Chancellor, Angela Merkel, also visited the booth. Overall, the impression from meeco’s participation at FILDA is that it was once again able to successfully reach out to companies in Angola that care about a cleaner future. A growing number of visitors showed a clear interest for renewable energies in spite of the very abundant oil resources in Angola. “Our solar energy solutions combined with efficient storage technology are a real asset in Angola and generally speaking central Africa”, says Peer-Olav Schmidt, meeco’s representative in Portugal and Angola. “It allows for increased power supply autonomy and less time spent in fuel purchase and distribution as it would be in diesel generator based environments. If you consider both local transport infrastructures and territory occupation, then renewable energies not only are profitable but they also make perfect sense”, explains Mr. Schmidt.

As in last year’s edition, Exergia Angola, an Exergia company, leader in engineering and construction in Portuguese-speaking countries was also present at FILDA with The meeco Group. “Participating at FILDA with such an international and experienced player as The meeco Group has helped us broaden our services and be recognized as a credible partner in the area of renewable energy”, says Dr. Germano, Director of Exergia Angola.

FILDA will remain a key event in the years to come and The meeco Group closely follows the market.

The meeco Group’s take on Intersolar, the event of the year.

Tradeshows & Events — Dieter Trutschler on June 14, 2011 at 07:33

With more than 1.500 visitors from over 40 different countries having visited Gildemeister energy solutions and the meeco Group and at this years’ Intersolar edition, there is no doubt it will remain as one of the best exhibitions to date. Each and every meeco Group office was represented, with members from Asia to Latin America, North America and Europe.

“Intersolar is that special moment of the year we are all extremely glad to participate in” says Tarun Munjal, Director of meeco India. “Only Intersolar can gather so unanimously our team and all the solar industry family in one place. It is a great place to exchange market insight, see new technological breakthroughs and of course, develop, consolidate or close solid business opportunities” adds Tarun.

Both the already famous CellCube Vanadium Redox battery and the new WindCarrier, a 10kWp up to 30 kWp vertical wind turbine launched at Intersolar, had an unquestionable success. Such a diversified setup, as far as energy sources are concerned showed visitors that The meeco Group is ready to tackle today’s energy production, storage and mobility changes. Another turning point in the product and services offer presented by GILDEMEISTER and meeco was the importance of a growing segment on the global solar market, the Telecom industry. “As wireless service providers strive to serve the next billion subscribers, they face the challenge of serving more remote regions of the world at a competitive price. For remote regions without access to the electricity grid, this is an enormous problem and we have the most reliable solution for it“ explains Scott Osborne, in charge of Telecom Business Development for The meeco Group.

The meeco Group has been a regular attendant amidst the Intersolar exhibitors in the last 5 years and it will continue to do so without a doubt. See you all next year! Meanwhile let’s all work for a bigger, better and brighter solar industry.

meeco participates in Salon des Energies Renouvelables trade fair in Paris

Tradeshows & Events — Dieter Trutschler on June 16, 2010 at 07:25

The meeco Group is presenting its latest portable energy solution, the sun2go, at the Renewable Energy Exhibition (Salon des Energies Renouvelables) in Paris. Located at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, its more than just an exhibition–the show is an annual forum bringing together qualified exhibitors and professionals spanning the entire sector of renewable energy.

From 16-18 June at stand C26 in hall 1, The meeco Group, together with a+f GmbH (subsidiary of Gildemeister AG), will use this exhibition to talk to customers and partners and present the SunCarrier, SkyCarrier, and sun2go products. The SunCarrier is a tracking system for photovoltaic modules based on a circle-formed rail system, which follows the sun throughout the day like a sunflower and harvests 30% more solar energy then traditional, fixed systems. The SkyCarrier is a tracking system for open-space solar installations situated near the equator (where the angle of the sun can be up to 90°). Because it tracks along the horizontal axis, the photovoltaic modules are optimally aligned to the sun in these locations.

The meeco Group is also presenting the sun2go, an independent photovoltaic solution, which supplies electricity generated by the natural power of the sun. The sturdy and rainproof trolley can be taken anywhere, withstanding the harshest environmental conditions. It can therefore even be used in remote areas of the world where reliable electric power supply is not yet available. The sun2go delivers 1 kWh storage capacity with a nominal output up to 600W in both AC and DC power. It can not only power electric devices and tools for several hours a day for professional, recreational, or emergency purposes, but the sun2go can even recharge an electric scooter or start a traditional car if its battery fails.

meeco at Intersolar: sun2go can even recharge an electric scooter

Common, Tradeshows & Events — Dieter Trutschler on June 9, 2010 at 14:45

The meeco Group is exhibiting its latest innovation at the Intersolar Munich 2010, the worlds largest and most important trade fair for photovoltaic and solar thermal applications. The portable sun2goTM is a small, but highly effective portable power supply that can be easily carried, thanks to a wheeled trolley. The advantage of this portable energy solution is the powering of small electric devices and tools for several hours a day.

Look for meeco Group from June 9-11 at Intersolar Exhibit Booth #230, Hall C4. The meeco group, together with their strategic partner a+f GmbH (a subsidiary company of Gildemeister AG), will offer their world premiere of products and unveil new innovations.

The sun2goTM delivers 1 kWh storage capacity with a nominal output of up to 600W in both AC and DC power. It can therefore power small electronic devices, appliances, and tools such as lights, fans, heaters, measuring equipment, audio players, laptops, TV sets, and power hand tools. It can even start a traditional automobile if its battery is dead. But this is not all: The sun2goTM can even recharge an electric scooter.

The sun2goTMs sturdy and rainproof trolley can be taken anywhere and withstands even tough environmental conditions. It can therefore be used in many remote areas of the world where reliable electric power supply is not available. Until now, the most common off-grid solution has been the fuel-powered generator, an expensive solution with negative environmental impact. The sun2goTM is a professional, fully-integrated solution, and can be powered by solar energy to reduce costs and preserve the environment.
