MUENCH Racing Team, back-to-back e-bike world champion

Electric mobility, Sponsorships — Filipe Webermann on November 1, 2011 at 13:31

The German and meeco sponsored MUENCH Racing Team, won all four of this year’s e-powered racing championship titles! After winning the FIM e-Power construction category as well as both, the FIM and TTXGP European single rankings, the traditional German brand secured another sensational victory at the TTXGP “World Final” last October 16. Just like in 2010 they once again won the e-racing crown.

“During the qualifying we came in first in front of David Hallett and Ho ChiFung,” explains team manager Thomas Petsch on racing Sunday. “The final race started at 2pm and we all hoped for yet another start to finish victory.” Eventually Matthias Himmelmann came in first with a healthy margin of 40 seconds before Ho ChiFung. With this start to finish victory, head of development Thomas Schuricht and his team once again accomplished something sensational. “The British racing enthusiasts were more than impressed that one can already go that fast on an e-bike. They do understand however, that e-racing is the future,” said Thomas Petsch. The emission-free racing sport is supported by an on-site wind power station in the pit lane where all e-bikes are charged. Two years after their start in e-biking competitions, MUENCH lives up to the expectations and shows that e-mobility is a reality.

If you want to experience MEUNCH Racing Team at close range, you stand the best chances at Essen Motor Show. In line with rattling exhausts the most recent e-mobility concepts and equipment solutions will be displayed. In cooperation with their main sponsor MUENCH will not only present their e-bikes but potentially introduce their new Production Racer and the new TTX Racing Series in hall 4 from November 26th till December 4th.

All of our congratulations to the MUENCH Racing Team for their success!

meeco sponsored MUENCH Racing Team wins TTXGP race in Assen (NL)

Electric mobility, Sponsorships — Filipe Webermann on August 12, 2011 at 13:00

The third European all-electric motorbike Grand Prix took place last weekend in Assen, Netherlands. The meeco sponsored MUENCH Racing Team, and its driver Matthias Himmelmann were once again on the starting line with one of the greenest racing bikes on the planet, the MUENCH TTE-2. Happening alongside the Dutch eMobility motorbike championship, this exciting TTXGP race had one of the largest audiences to date and 70.000 spectators got to watch Himmelmann win another race.

Two curves after the start Himmelmann was already fourth and on the back straight he took over the Chinese competitor, making it third. Himmelmann was once again capable to compensate the TTE-2’s starting position with his outstanding driving skills and his thrilling hunt. The already classical and nonetheless fascinating duel with Alessandro Brannetti (CRP Racing) from Italy – a very experienced 250 MotoGP driver, followed. Himmelmann came out on top and ended up extending his lead. During the awards ceremony we once again got to listen to the German national anthem. “Himmelmann who will be called hotshot from now on, wore down everyone during a real battle,” said Thomas Petsch, MUENCH Racing Team Manager.

“The best event I have been in so far! They provided something for everybody- not just eMobility but also GT races and lots of other suspenseful motorsport competitions. Well, and it was definitely one of my best,“ said Himmelmann after his great success.

The meeco Group has never been as proud as a sponsor to an event as with the MUENCH Racing Team. This team has shown tenacity and endurance in developing this all-electric motorbike that meets championship standards while being environmentally friendly. Congratulations to the MUENCH Racing Team and to Matthias Himmelmann for making it happen!

Peter Virdee and Dieter Trutschler joined “British Indian Diamond Jubilee Banquet”

Peter Virdee (B & S Property) and Dieter Trutschler (The meeco Group), who are the founders of the recently established PV Energy Ltd., joined the “British Indian Diamond Jubilee Banquet” on Friday, 29th of October 2010 in London, UK. The purpose of this banquet was to celebrate the 60th anniversary of India’s Republic and Diwali.

Both directors, accompanied by their wives, attended the gala and were honoured to be invited by the President of the Loomba Charity Foundation Cherie Blair, wife of the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Mrs Blair is also the patron of the charity “Solar Aid” which supports the development of renewable energies, especially photovoltaics in Africa and beyond.

PV Energy Ltd. was happy to support the gala as a co-sponsor. The “British Indian Diamond Jubilee Banquet” was hosted by the Loomba Foundation at the prestigious Guildhall in London.

The aim of the Loomba Foundation is to promote the fundamental freedoms and human rights of widows and their children around the world by raising awareness of the gross injustices women face when losing a husband, and removing the stigma associated with widowhood.

Accredited by the United Nations in 2008, the Foundation is educating over 3,000 children of poor widows in India. As part of its global work, it empowers widows by setting up businesses in Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Rwanda, South Africa, Syria, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. According to the Foundation, there are more than 245 million widows estimated worldwide, who are the poorest of the poor, invisible, forgotten and unheard. Many of them live in poverty and suffer dreadful prejudice and discrimination – often denied their right to inheritance, abused, isolated and pushed to the very fringes of society. It is their children who are punished, often forced to opt out of school because of lack of money.

In addition to a variety of distinguished guests from the UK´s business world, society and political sector, such as the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Sir Paul Stephenson QPM, the Indian High Commissioner His Excellency Nalin Surie and Lord Dholakia of Waltham Brooks OBE, DL, the famous Bollywood actress Preity Zinta attended the event as the International Ambassador of the Loomba foundation.

The meeco Group sponsors horse jumping and e-power racing, as well as other important events with regard to clean energy. In June 2010 The meeco Group used its SunCarrier hot-air balloon during the famous Las Hogueras de San Juan (St John´s Bonfires) festival in Alicante (Spain). Just some weeks later, the hot-air balloon was in action at a scout camp of the German Association of Protestant Girl Guides and Boy Scouts (VCP) from July 29 to August 7 in near Wolfsburg (Germany) with the Guides and Scouts on a panoramic view of the camp.

The famous festival “Las Hogueras de San Juan”, which took place in Alicante from the 20th to the 29th of June, is a very important and well-known Spanish festival which marks the arrival of the summer solstice. Therefore, The meeco Group provided five sun2goTM (its portable energy solution) for several educational projects and to generate renewable energy for hand tools, laptops and mobile phone charging. The meeco Group then invited the winners of the camp’s “sustainability contest” on a ride in the SunCarrier hot-air balloon. “With the hot-air balloon we want to promote the use of renewable energy and to support important events all over the world”, said Dieter Trutschler, member of the board of The meeco Group.

Guides and Scouts testing portable solution sun2go at camp

Common, Sponsorships — Dieter Trutschler on August 2, 2010 at 16:03

Its a rigorous time for the five sun2goTM trolleys on the campsite of the German Association of Protestant Girl Guides and Boy Scouts (VCP) near Wolfsburg, Germany. The units have been tested for several days and have proven their practicality even through demanding usage at the campsite. The Guides and Scouts have used the sun2goTM to generate climate neutral electric energy to power hand tools, laptops and charging mobile phones.

The sun2goTM generates electricity by using the natural power of the sun. Therefore its a perfect opportunity to power electric devices on the first ever self-sustainable scout camp of this size in Germany. For the 5,000 Guides and Scouts at the camp, sustainability is more than just a modern phrase: to leave a place a little better than you found it is a central premise of Scouting. Taking care of the environment and living in environmentally self-sustainable ways are the most important educational goals of the worlds largest youth movement Scouting.
