The meeco Group spreads its wings to India

The meeco Group spreads its wings to the land endowed with sunshine as well as an appetite for additional power, INDIA, by establishing a subsidiary based in NCT of DelhiGurgaon. India is poised to expand its role in PV adoption and become a leading destination for such technology. Specific drivers for PV in India include the countrys rapidly rising need for primary energy and electricity, the persistent energy deficit situation, the countrys overdependence on coal for electricity generation and on oil and gas imports (amounting to 7 % of its GDP). Recent policy announcements made by the government of Indias Ministry of Renewable Energy have given an impetus to expand this industry in India. These factors, coupled with abundant irradiation (most parts of the country enjoying 300 sunny days a year), make PV particularly attractive to the countrys energy strategy.

There is also enormous potential for off-grid PV deployment, in India, based on real needs and benefits, in the areas of rural electrification, servicing the power requirements for Indias rapidly growing telecommunication infrastructure, defense applications and powering irrigation pump sets.

Mr. Suresh C. Pahwa and Mr. Tarun Munjal are leading meecos Indian operations as Directors based in Gurgaon. They are further expanding our local organization, which will be integrated into meecos global delivery model and expertise. This geographic expansion will further support The meeco Groups important goals of reducing carbon emissions and spurring economic growth throughout the world by creating reliable and affordable renewable energy.

The meeco Group supports a scout camp of the German Association of Protestant Girl Guides and Boy Scouts (VCP) from July 29 August 7, 2010 in Almke, Germany (near Wolfsburg). With 5,000 campers, this environmentally self-sustainable scout camp is the largest ever in Germany. For the Guides and Scouts at this unique camp, sustainability is more than just a modern phrase: to leave a place a little better than you found it is a central premise of Scouting.

The meeco Group has provided five of its portable energy solutions sun2goTM to be used at the campsite in several educational projects as well as to generate neutral electric energy to power hand tools, laptops and to charge mobile phones. Also, The meeco Group has invited the clever winners of the camps sustainability contest to take a ride in its SunCarrier hot-air balloon. Please find below some pictures of the exciting balloon journey.

The meeco Group´s motivation for backing the scout camp is to promote the usage of renewable energy and to help young people explore and learn about the needs and possibilities of their present and future sustainability. By supporting education, The meeco Group continues as an ever-present and innovative force in the renewable energy field.

Guides and Scouts testing portable solution sun2go at camp

Its a rigorous time for the five sun2goTM trolleys on the campsite of the German Association of Protestant Girl Guides and Boy Scouts (VCP) near Wolfsburg, Germany. The units have been tested for several days and have proven their practicality even through demanding usage at the campsite. The Guides and Scouts have used the sun2goTM to generate climate neutral electric energy to power hand tools, laptops and charging mobile phones.

The sun2goTM generates electricity by using the natural power of the sun. Therefore its a perfect opportunity to power electric devices on the first ever self-sustainable scout camp of this size in Germany. For the 5,000 Guides and Scouts at the camp, sustainability is more than just a modern phrase: to leave a place a little better than you found it is a central premise of Scouting. Taking care of the environment and living in environmentally self-sustainable ways are the most important educational goals of the worlds largest youth movement Scouting.
