meeco AG expands into agrobusiness

Agrobusiness — Dieter Trutschler on July 23, 2009 at 17:54

meeco AG diversifies its business activities into a new area, trading re-imported agrochemicals in the Swiss market. Swiss farmers are offered high quality chemicals, such as agricides and fertilizers, at discount prices. For this purpose,  meeco AG has founded its subsidiary meeco agro AG, located in Zug.

Agrochemicals are highly priced in Switzerland. The main reasons for the immensely differing prices between directly purchased, and re-imported chemicals are the near monopolistic structures of agricultural retailing.

This is the bearing point of business for the newly founded meeco agro AG. In this newly entered field of business activities, the meeco AG subsidiary is expected to establish itself as a new market participant in agricultural trading. meeco agro AG deals with the worldwide production, trading, marketing and distribution of goods for agriculture and gardening, in particular agricides. The market will be dealt with from headquarters at Zug, and from the operations sub-office in Bad Ragaz.

As a subsidiary of meeco AG, the new enterprise will have sufficient resources at hand to start swiftly. Thus a quick, reliable and fairly priced delivery of means of production, auxiliaries and goods is guaranteed. Larger market participants as well as regional retailers will be served by meeco agro AG, however, the most important client remaining the single agricultural end-user.

Internet shopping and a strong, versatile web-representation will be offered to the younger generation of traders and farmers, catching the momentum in a rapidly modernizing agricultural world.

meeco agro AG will commence business by August 1, 2009. In a first phase, a basic selection of about 40 certified agricide substances in a variety of about 100 combinations will be offered.

meeco AG expands to the United States

Common — Dieter Trutschler on July 20, 2009 at 15:43

In the United States of America, increasing the use of renewable energy is one of President Barack Obamas top priorities.  Such an increase will reduce Americas dependence on foreign oil, respond to global climate change, and create millions of new jobs. President Obamas goal is to generate 25 percent of Americas energy from renewable sources by 2025 by making unprecedented investments in clean, renewable energy. These investments are designed to create a new green economy– the 21st Century version of the Industrial Revolution of the early 20th Century. In addition to this Federal initiative, several States such as California and Florida have adopted similar or more aggressive renewable energy targets.  Billions of dollars for renewable energy were included in the 2009 Stimulus Bill and projects, many in solar energy, are already underway.

At the same time, countries and industries in Central and South America more clearly realize that access to energy, on and off the electricity grid, is critical to their economic growth and the living standards of their citizens.

A large increase in the availability of renewable energy can only be reached by applying a variety of technologies including photovoltaics (PV), explains Dieter Trutschler, Sales Director of meeco AG, which specializes in the sale and installation of PV-based energy solutions. meeco AG was operating in the USA even before last years Presidential elections, adapting its business model to the specific situations in North and South America.  Now we want to start taking advantage of the highly favorable market environment. meecos USA office is located in Orange County California.

meeco AG offers a number of PV-based solutionsgrid-connected and off-grid Island solutions for utility-scale, industrial, and community needs, as well as mobile solutions for industrial applications.

SunCarrier show jumping team scores again

Common — Dieter Trutschler on July 14, 2009 at 13:00

Jacobo Maldonado once again demonstrated the excellence of the SunCarrier show jumping team with his success at the ANCADES (CSNCJ), a famous young horses show in the Riding Club CECYL in Segovia, Spain, on 11th July 2009. Jacobo won the big class with SunCarrier Darmena and only missed to win the six year old class by a mere five seconds, coming in second place with his imported mare SunCarrier Carlanka, daughter of the well-known stallion Caretino.

meeco AGs  sponsorship of the two Spanish riders Aurelio Gutierrez and Jacobo Maldonado began in early May 2009 and has already brought some fantastic results in such a short time.  This includes the bronze medal in the Spanish Andalusian Championship and the Grand Prix in the National Show Jumping Competition in Caceres, Spain. Both rides continue to make their mark on the international show jumping scene, competing throughout Europe. Aurelio and Jacobo compete mostly with their horses SunCarrier Life Style and SunCarrier Felix.

meeco AG is delighted with the superb results and success of Jacobo and Aurelio, which also results in an increasing visibility and awareness of SunCarrier and meeco AG.  As the show jumping season is progressing, meeco AG is wishing all the best to the winning riders.

SunCarrier aviation team is growing

Aviation — Dieter Trutschler on July 13, 2009 at 15:02

Innovative products need innovative promotion. According to this principle, meeco AG has extended its aviation team by two gyrocopters.

Gyrocopters, also known as autogiros, are helicopter-like, eco-friendly rotorcrafts which are extremely fuel efficient due to a special drive system, which uses the air stream to make the rotors gyrate so that they need the propellant only for their take-offs and landings. Spanish scientist Juan de la Ciervas basic intention, when he invented the autogiro in 1923, was, to develop a helicopter with a lower air crash risk. The result was one of the lightest and smallest helicopters ever, which can be handled quite easily.  The directors of the James Bond-movies, recognizing the advantages and the progressiveness of this invention, used it in their 1967 movie You Only Live Twice as Sean Connery alias 007s getaway aircraft.

Both the gyrocopters are available to meecos partners and clients and can be rented for business and private events.  For more information please contact meecos aviation team at gyroteam@meeco.net.
